3416 H Rear End Grease

How much 90 W oil goes in the rear end, right under the vickers hydro?

Hi;

In my draining out the old 90w grease I used a wire in both the lower right drain, and fill neck to ensure there are no obstructions in the area.

When I refilled it took the better part of a quart (28 fl. oz.) not the 48 oz. the chart says.

Did anyone else have this occur to them? The level comes up to the fill plug as it stands level now.

I believe he was asking about the tranny gearcase, it's separate from the Vickers hydro fluid system (different from Sundstrand) - it's the first line of the chart above.   

To me, all "Sovereign" gearcases are basically the same size - the non-hydro 7000 and 7100 tractors also call for 48 oz, which based on the geometry and location of the fill plug seems excessive.  I've never measured the quantity I've installed.

I did not know that as I have never had a Vickers hydro. I will delete my post above.

So as I drained out 28 ounces of 90 out, It would seem that this must be a model that departs from the spec sheet, at least it appears that way.
