Simp 4212. Early or late

Hello everyone.

looking in parts book at spindles and it has two pages. One for early model and one for later model. This is a 4212 spec #1691253. Can anyone help. Any distinctions that tells the difference.

That MFR# doesn’t seem right. It’s not listed in the master index for the fiche cards.
