Jack's sourced and sent 6 weeks after initial order and, I bought extras for backpack from a member https://simpletractors.com/forums/topic/68764-sovereign-throttle-washers-nla/

Anyhow, I also pulled another old guy mistake this week: while driving the Hydro18 around the yard picking up sticks and putting them in the AC cart, Linda's favorite pastime and delivery service - Amazon - pulled into drive. I shut the tractor off to talk to the driver and when I attempted to start it, nothing. Got the driver to help push it out of his way and left it till Linda could help guide it into the shop while I pulled it slowly with the mower tractor. I checked the seat switch, checked the hydro switch, and decided I may have smelled something getting hot so tore it down to take a look at the wiring behind the dash. Well, I had the throttle washers on the way so why not. I removed the battery and drained and removed the fuel tank. 80679C7D-3DD9-4212-93A8-4A4A15A7F1B7_1_105_c.thumb.jpeg.0eee615f07cd7ecba7b2b1db8a24bffc.jpeg

While walking around the machine I suddenly noticed this

Forgot to check the dang pto engagement lever. Not going to tell the Amazon man who helped push...While in there I blew dust and dirt out of the cavities and took the inspection plates off the Command blower housing

Found the engine fairly clean but used the time to blast a bit of air through

Lastly I replaced the washers that likely have been in place since mfg date. Pictures show there was excess wear and reason for the throttle fast creep. Outside two washers first: originals on top and replacements at bottom2EE3AAAF-E3C9-4F7C-AA8D-14EA7FB53293_1_105_c.thumb.jpeg.8a86717a64441cc8668524afca483374.jpeg

Inside (dash) washer in this last picture. 8A1C3191-9BBF-4C05-AF70-885644E50608_1_105_c.thumb.jpeg.1f32e131616606f9a04769051ba1b40d.jpeg

Adjusted the throttle cable on the dash and engine and buttoned it back together. Moved the PTO lever to disengage, and she started. Also, throttle works like its supposed to. Thanks to all that helped along the way. Oh, by the way, it feels really good to be back in the shop.

That PTO lever left on is a common issue.

My tractors have hydro creep; if I need to let the tractor sit while it idles to, say, blow off the grass clippings, I'll engage the hydro lever a bit to keep the tractor in neutral.  If I shut it down that way, well, the starter is a no-go when I attempt to restart and I'm looking around for what I missed. It generally only takes a few seconds to realize what I did...
