ParkerBarker Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 PO said the hydraulics bled off quickly. I tested the bucket lift cyls and it took 25 mins to bleed from full lift to bottom. This was no load , engine off. Much faster than the Kubota but 40 yrs older. Does this seem to be in the green to you? Quote
Chris727 Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 Mine would bleed down in probably five minutes but I think its in need of help. 1 Quote
Chris727 Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 @acken, @SmilinSam any thoughts on the bleed down time? Quote

If a loader is "bleeding" down its usually an indicator that the loader control valve is needing rebuilt, or there are external leaks in the system somewhere.(which you can usually see) A good valve should lock the oil in the cylinders/lines and the loader shouldnt drop just sitting there. ParkerBarker Posted June 16, 2024 Author Posted June 16, 2024 Havent seen visible leaks. Are parts available for these Hydro systems, valves ect...? Quote
Bill725 Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Remember guys, these FELs are in the neighborhood of 60 years old. Rubber o-rings do get hard over time. I rebuilt a bucket tilt cylinder and the seals were hard and leaking. The control valve and the bucket tilt cylinder can be disassembled to replace o-rings and seals. The lift arm cylinders are welded and someone with a lathe to machine the weld and use as a fixture to reweld is needed. AFI Direct Services in Oak Creek, WI can perform this task. 3 Quote
jlasater Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 Upgrading to modern square piston seals for the cylinders is a huge upgrade as well. Quote
