acken Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 I'm swapping in vacuum pump fuel pump in place of rocker diaphragm type. The 916 hood is rubbing on the original pump. Just curious if the rocker covers are taller only due to the linkage needed for the mechanical pump? Will the shorter covers work without any interference? Quote
Brettw Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 The shorter rocket cover (pulse type fuel pump vs. mechanical cover mounted fuel pump) will clear the hood. Quote
acken Posted June 28, 2024 Author Posted June 28, 2024 Thanks Brett. But is there a clearance issue inside the cover using the shorter ones? Quote
Brettw Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 No, I do not believe so. The internal rocker arms and valve stems, etc. are no different between the two valve cover applications. I am changing the mechanical over to a pulse type myself due to hood clearance issues, on a restoration I am doing. Quote
