help with 68 simplicity 2110 engine tear down

could anyone help me understand how to remove thr large engine cover from my 10hp off my 68 landlord 2110? it seems like it's riveted on there almost...

You need to remove the dive hub, and belt pulley before the cover will come off.  Quite often the drive hub has rust preventing it from coming off easily.  Spray some penetrating oil on the shaft end, and wait for it to seep in.  Carefully tap the hub to get it to rotate back and forth.

As @ackenstated above the drive hub fits onto the crankshaft. I like using the booster fan instead for better air flow.

Bill I have seen them on various engines, but never figured out if they were designed for specific models.

thanks all, i got her. found a mouse hotel behind the cover lol having trouble finding a part number for my coil though. trying to look up part diagrams but there dont seem to be too many for the engine
