I just took the electronic ignition off of my Briggs 243431 motor because the coil wires pulled right off and the ignition kit got mangled inside. I didn't want to buy a new ignition kit because I have new points and a different coil, not new, but it works in another model. I hooked everything up and there is no spark. Can anyone tell me what is wrong? Where do the wires hook up to? What is the gap on the flywheel to the coil supposed to be set at (right now it is at .013)? I am going to run a new wire from the switch to the points and from the points to the coil, wherever it goes. Please, any help is better than what I know.

Brad You might consider converting to 12 volt coil type ignation.I did it last week on my 7010 and it worked great. Good hot spark. Instructions are on the DIY page under the Simple tractors page. Good Luck R.Hatch Never try to teach a pig to sing,it wastes your time and annoys the pig.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
