Tranny swap 6116/6216(w/variable drive

Hi guys, it's been a minute since I was here. But I'm a little in over my head. I'm old, got no money, got a couple simplicity's and grass that keeps growing

Started out the tranny mount broke on my 6116 and I think it caused other issues. When it broke immediately my shifter dropped and gears weren't where they were supposed to be. Had to push it to shed. I removed the broken part and had it welded. I discovered another issue with the clutch pulley bracket. The bolt was in backwards and scrapping tranny pulley when I clutched put pressure on the bracket that broke.

Now... the tranny seems to be locked up. I can't shift at all and the wheels are locked in place. I don't know if I did something wrong or what. I do have another tranny in a 6216. See pics.

My question is will this work? To me it seems it should. Does anyone have advice on making this swap?

Like I said I'm pretty much in over my head here. I'm disabled and have a hard time moving around on my feet, but I usually manage somehow

I've got alot of pics but don't want to clog servers more than needed

I plan to switch axles and use the linkage and clutch from the 6116. I think the transmission looks identical. But im not in the greatest light and I don't see good in any light lol
