etohio
I bought a Baron 3414 to restore and while working on it I discovered that the engine had a base plate that had no filler hole for oil or checking the oil. I bought another engine from a earlier simplicity and that base will not work also brought another off of EBAY and that one will not work either. I have been trying to get the correct part number but am not having any luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My 3416 has the correct base and would love to find one like it. SmilinSam
The 3400 series are supposed to have the fill neck on the side of the cast iron Briggs block. A 3"-4" pipe fitting on an angle with a cap the threads on and has a dipstick on it.. The correct pan for those engine does not have a fill/check plug. Just a drain plug out one side. The older pans with the fill hole & check plug like used on the older 60's tractors wont work unless you hack the frame up to accomodate it. etohio
I found a new dipstick but the part number for the pan seems to be the problem. Any idea of the part number of the pan or where to get a correct part.
Bill725
The 3414H was manufactured by Simplicity in 1971. The engine used was a B&D Model 320421-0134 and the oil pan used was P/N 391165. https://www.ebay.com/itm/256623104823?_nkw=briggs+oil+pan&itmmeta=01J72625PR66VMH5N1A4FAY1N2&hash=item3bbfedd337:g:Bo4AAOSwmfJkQaA9&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKnqMJNEMwEjn%2F%2BTYicNjddDaFNHsNCFoyUHH1N9KwzZuUUYKOc6KGmV0utN5THsjFzAaOTcV8jS%2FdoNMJZGV3bjER8LdcJuR7gzcdUlheK07HfQUQx%2Fi5pNQJGqgd8PGxJX2c0vH0Aia8w50NQejZ8TAX3Ixp7kyTSdXCGP9N0UX5H6A5DsPFhiWSwlDqfX5UTmPRse%2BpfAmv995pxbV8UWwh%2B6oneGa8Sw6xL%2F66sK7ybsnnl%2FLnYQJtlI0Em2Wz1hSnkCyJkuW31Z5SV2iA8TaS6hPHw2MlNhS%2FckwcxSoQ%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR7jbiMa4ZA https://www.ebay.com/itm/185620869855?_nkw=briggs+oil+pan&itmmeta=01J726AMVP6B98JHNA2DBEYMS3&hash=item2b37ddb2df:g:Oz8AAOSwjW5jNPrA&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA0HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKlPDGUSFf051qKdf4g8sA5UWVzF%2F6KCO2ANmTx9Ye6TQ8ZBQEgODj5z3EZfmxA8hfpJE1SXLJearCFWAnP86frp89%2FKbfCfqRANzwre8zSp9bdazwXtD0fSNYSzhYUGX6S8%2FnBCMbjlGiYBxP62F90k2LHtbg7sqESZawpUZ8HyuKK9mZDwikjOmV9%2BUAC%2B2%2FoWRT3qxr%2BWmFbtDeaYTPcFaBogZV3nWn4QDQlAIpGYYp5YZ4755PP46wIWUogjtOo%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_bNqsa4ZA https://www.ebay.com/itm/226155024853?_nkw=briggs+oil+pan&itmmeta=01J726C8SP7M8KP8N1DQEY2WR7&hash=item34a7e3d1d5:g:0HEAAOSwndpmS7yI&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKkKSCIUOYOm9Vuh3RAD3ut1%2FvLFZvK107HmiNcUWJC591I6K6TeD%2BcQpqFrbgYBOh0l2rB6gPWd9AzsOrvTrOYt2lzIQpQAryAgdbw7uykGiNLsTdJIiGMGvTJUEh6EsFP3RbG2nOynNZQK0p%2Ffp1EP7w5ZTYTn8ZgQy1bUkY9G7Te1cHtT976P1BZiO5UQ0jg96NpLiCIlTebZCT%2B%2Bz0DQhigOzWOf8YkNAXRBvPmRE3cc4twSs7FwyZ4re87NH3rFcA9TqX7wWhgDqnTy%2Br3rDc0INSta3JNsx%2BwbVsVoPg%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_iMsca4ZA
