Guest dragyn_myrlin Report post Posted June 24, 2002 I have a Simplicity 12 1/2 lawn tractor. I can't figure out what kind of lube to put in either place. I used 90 weight in the hydro. Anybody know what I can use?
MPH 12 Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Not sure what type of hydro you have but I would drain that 90 wt out before you try to use it. I might be wrong but I think it is way to thick and will ruin your pump, ie over work it. Most newer then about 1970 hydros use ATF but please get better info before you take that advice, like an owners manual. If the other place you speak of is the engine, either 30wt or 10w40 should be safe.MPH
roma3112 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2002 i would definetly drain out the 90wt oil from the pump side of the unit, you most likely will use 90wt oil in the transaxle portion of the transmission, but Not in the pump itself. What is used in these hydros is either simplicity hydrolic oil or dextron type atf. Consult your manual, or if you dont have one you can go to simplicitys website and check to see if your manual is online.
