how do I change bevel gear oil?

Recommended Posts

I have a '75 Simplicity 7016 and an '83 Allis 917. How in the heck do I drain the bevel gear box? I don't see a plug. Do I remove a bolt or what. I hope I don't sound too foolish asking this question but I haven't found the drain hole yet. Thanks for your help. Here is a pic of my AC. John

I'm not so sure of the newer units, but both of my 60's bgb's have drain plugs on the rear cover. The fill plug should be located on the top side. You should be able to find the info for your machines at simple tractors.com. Just my 2c for what its worth. Reed

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
