Question from Newbie

Recommended Posts

Greetings. It lookas like I will be getting a Homelite tractor next weekend. I do not know what model it could be but I was hoping that a description could prompt some input from all of you. The guy who I am buying it from is charging me 250.00. He is rebuilding it, should be ready by Saturday. He does good work. Rewires all electrical, new belts. I have been very impressed with his work. He said that it has a 12HP engine, 32" cutting deck. The body is blue and white and it has head lights that protrude from the side of the hood. From what I have gathered on this site, I am guessing that it is an AC/Homelite model but I would like to know if it is a good deal. Thanks.

***Update*** On my way home from work today, I stopped by to look at my potential new tractor again. From what I have learned on this site and what I saw in person today, it is a Spilicity made Homelite T8. The guy who is fixing it up said that he was going to put a 12.5 HP engine in it. He said that he also needs to replace the bearings in the mower deck, replace all the belts and wiring and sharpen the blades. I have to admit that I am a little disappoint that it is not an Allis made but it still appears to be better built than many of the new brands that are out there today. I trust this guy's work. He said that anyone could make it run but he would not sell it to me if he couldn't get it running right. He does warrenty work for TSC.

It's in pretty sad shape, but yes I have a yellow plastic cap that I'm fairly certain is what you need. PM me your details and I'll get it out to you.

Try this web site for the previous message I reported that did not work for you guys.
The message is about a man in Arkansas who builds miniature vehicles out of old refrigerators that are drivable.
