I found out what I have from this wonderful site. It's a t-8 broadmoor made by simplicity. are these very common tractors?? Is the rear-end very strong? I have a 18 b&s L head twin I thought about putting in it to pull with...will the rear end take it?? or should I look for some thing else??

The rear end in these tractors is quite strong, but so is 18 hp. It sounds like your transmission already has some problems, and I would be leary of running so much hp thru it. On the other hand, if the tranny was in very good condition, it would probably be ok. The mounting holes fo the large engine will match on this tractor, but you will not be able to fit the hood or grill, and you may have some interference with the front pto (mower drive pulleys). Tom
