jlasater Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Have any of you heard or seen someone install an electric power steering unit out of something like a Toyota Yaris or Saturn Vue in to a 9020/720? I would use it to drive the stock steering box directly. The drive motor sticks out the side and I'm not sure that assembly would fit in the console on one of these tractors. Shoulders are getting tired and while I like using the 9020, I'd like to ease steering. I know about some of the hydraulic options as well, but was curious about retrofitting an EPS unit. Quote
jlasater Posted April 7 Author Posted April 7 Found this company and they have a universal kit that may be smaller than the OEM units. I fear it's still too long to fit on one of these tractors. https://www.superatv.com/universal-power-steering-kit-170w-220w I contacted them asking for a dimensional drawing. 1 Quote
Chris727 Posted April 8 Posted April 8 @ShaunE And @s_stephenare PowerMax gurus and hopefully may chime in with some info of suggested power steering units. Quote
tadams Posted April 8 Posted April 8 If I remember right there was a article on a guy that puta chevelle steering box in and use the hydraulics from the transmission for power steering. Quote
s_stephen Posted April 9 Posted April 9 You are extremely limited on space in the power max tractors for adding power steering I have put the simplicity sun star power steering in a few of the power max tractors and others have done the same and also used a 4 port steering valve to simplify the hydraulic side of things. Here are some pictures of one that I am currently installing. this valve gets installed where the factory gear box was 6 Quote
