tej 1 Posted August 29, 1999 If diff adj. bolts are too tight,it will be like having a 'locked' rear and will dig up the lawn on turning. First jack trac. up and remove outer diff hub.,backing adj. bolts off before removing said hub. Once hub is off check inner axle for scoring from the diff.adj bolts being too tight. If axle is deeply scored that problem HAS to be addressed first. If axle is o.k.replace wheel hub and check cond. of adj. bolts. If they're o.k.,The proper adj. for these bolts is 35 foot/lbs. torque. And that's about it.Possibly someone has had the diff. apart and put the planetary gears in wrong also giving a 'locked' rear situation. If you have a shop man. it will show you the proper way the diff. is assembled. Good Luck! dlc
