just purchast this mower ser.no.009111 other no.standard 990287 and delux 990288. is there a way to tell what year and model it is.also it wont go into reverse and will no go into high gear because of slop in assembly.tried to remove assembly but could not figure it out. thanks mike

Are those #'s from the mower deck or tractor ID #? You can try to look around the simple tractor wb site and look for pictures of your model. Good Luck John H

Based on the MFR # of 990288, it's a 6HP Broadmoor. It could be either a 1963, 1964 or 1965 model. You might be able to "date" your engine and get closer to your answer. Get the full serial number off the engine.. it's a long string of numbers with spaces. BTW, if you'll search the Simple trACtors site for "288" you'll find quite a bit of info on it. Simplicity often dropped the "990.." part of their MFR number in the early years when they were referring to something... Hope this helps. You should also try searching the Simplcity Tech Pubs site to see if there's a owners/parts manual loaded... The foot-draggin' Clubhouse Custodian...

i found some picks,it looks like it could be 64 or 66.the engine has been changed.
