990314 right hub

Just bought a 9hp landlord,the differential is in a coffee can. I know what I bought it belonged to afriend of the family. My ? is ; the diff gear attach to the hub? It has 6 holes around the gear almost as if dowells are supposed to be there. Am I in the ballpark. Don't want to tear another tractor apart to find out. Advanced thanks Gary

One pin for each hole. They are hollow, split spring steel. You may also be able to use coil pins that have the spring steel "wraped" within. They offer a more solid core because they are not as hollow.
