Acme Motori Diesel

This is just about the slickest engine conversion I have ever seen. It is an Acme Motori one cylinder diesel in a Big Ten. I specifically went to the auction today just to bid on this tractor. It went for almost $400, which in retrospect, was not way out of line, just too rich for me. The guy who bought it is going to pull the engine an put it into a skid steer loader. Does anybody know anything about these engines?? It appears to me all you have to do is drop the engine in, have a fitting machined to match to the AC/Simp. drive shaft, then hook up battery, switch, throttle cable. The choke cable becomes the engine shut off. The fuel tank and starter are self-contained. There appears to be plenty of clearance for this engine under a 900 series hood. If anybody knows where to get one of these engines, I would be extremely grateful. Given more time to think about it, I would have bid more for this unit.

Thanks but I dont get to Italy very often, if fact, never. I was hoping maybe somebody knew about somebody in North America that dealt in these engines, or what type of equipment they are used in, like maybe a brand of compressor, refrigeration unit, or something like that. Then there would be a possibility of finding a used one.

Yea, I went to those sites, found out you can buy one in Italy for 1247 eurodollars. Found two in Australia for 1947 australiodollars. Problem is that I dont get to Australia much either. And I having trouble figuring out how many American dollars I can spend. Dave, if you can remember the name of the place in Kansas City, please let me know, THAT is a place that I can get to, if fact I will be within 150 miles of KC this week.
