power max 4040 and kohler 12 horse

1. Whats the best oil to use in the ccka engine?

2. I have a b12 with a 12 horse kohler, and until I cleaned the carburator it mor or less ran now it won't start. I can make it run when i pour gas into the cylinder, but not by the carb. ant ideas what is wrong or how to get gas through the carb ?

Oil should be 30HD

Check for broken manifold gasket. Float position should be level when inverted. Back out air mixture adjustment screws 3 turns initial. But before you check these - did you turn tank vavle back on? :)

Thanks jeff, I did put 10w30 in it so will change quickly. Yes the gas valve is on and had gas flow to the carb. Thanks much I will check the Manifold Gasket and turn out the air mixture more. Could it also be the carb gasket I k ow that is not great? John S.

You have a K series in the AC? If by "gasket" you mean the bowl gasket - if bad it may leak some but should not stop it from starting. How is the choke closing? If still no good try cleaning it out again.
Did you originally find much dirt in it?
