Hydolic filter needed for Simplicity 7790 diesel

Recommended Posts

Hello Simplicity specialists, Since a few years I am the owner of a Simplicity 7790 diesel. Now I need a new hydrolic oil filter (short), but I can't find a supplier (preferably in the Netherlands) who has the type I need. The suppliers told me that they can't deliver a filter based on the Simplicity part numbers. I hope that one of you has the name or part# of a manufacturer or dealer that can sell me a replacement filter. Thanks for trying to help me keep my 7790 up and running! J.W. I just looked at the filter that used to be on mine and either it was painted or the numbers are worn off. but the best thing to do anyway is to take the old filter in and have them match it up with another one that is about 2" longer. even a car oil filter will work if you cannot find a hydrolic one, just be sure it is of fine enough micron rating. I like to use longer filters because the stubby ones don't really flow enough for the hyd. lift, and the response of the drive is much better. On the older soveraings the oil filter is right behind the BGB with lines in place of that little short piece of hose behind the transmisson. it then has a plug removed inside an oil passage right behind where your filter is in the tranny and a cap over where yours is. I changed mine over to the sov. way and put a full sized hydro filter on it and thats like putting a super charger on the tranny! If you want to change yours over I will write full detailed instructions on it. Just email me. Hey maybe that should go in the DIY section of Simple trACtors. What do you all think? good luck Lawrence

Do a search on simple tractors for filters on hydro drive, sunstrand, there were some aftermarket filters listed. There were quite a few posts on this subject. I can not look up my numbers as i am not at home and won't be for a few days. Anything free is worth what you pay for it This & $1.00 might get you a small Coffee Maynard aka/UCD

Here's the link to the Simplicity filter info: http://simpletractors.com/service/hydro_filters.htm I don't know enough personally about the 7790 to know if it uses the short filter or the long one... The foot-draggin' Clubhouse Custodian...
