My Starter Is Tired!

Recommended Posts

dextyr
I have a Simplicity Model 725 (sn 16735) with a B&S Model 19 engine (type 706047 sn 643279). I never got the electric start. Why??? Dunno now. But, 40 years later, I'm tired of pulling on the cord. Any help available on converting to electric start with generator? Parts houses say the manufacturer quit making the starter/generators years ago. Thanks - Dextyr

Probably cheapest in the long run would be to buy a parts tractor. You'll get S/G, regulator, wiring, pulley, brackets, battery box, switches, & hardware. You just missed this one > http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=9445 But, the parts you need may still be available.

Just to give you a little more information about your engine, the serial number dates it as being manufactured in November, 1961. Here's a link to the data table. http://www.edgeta.org/mdate3.htm Can you post a few pics of your machine? I have a couple of them, one of which is for parts. You can see them here. http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10569

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁

It's in pretty sad shape, but yes I have a yellow plastic cap that I'm fairly certain is what you need. PM me your details and I'll get it out to you.
