Arbor Assembly Parts Question

Recommended Posts

Dik
The bearing is used in quite a few mower decks. More than likely it will work for you. You can also buy a Fafnir P/N P204RR6. This is a double shielded brg. If you arbor has a grease fitting, just knock off seal facing inside of arbor. I have found out that arbor housings are either 3 or 6 bolt but other than that are dimensionally the same. Later units use stamped pulleys on all three abors but center drive pulley is cast

Idler is in a slot & yes it looks just like your picture. Yesterday I ordered 2 bearings 108202, & arbor drive assem. 108252 -- I just hope they are what I need. Thanks for the reply. John(ri)

Is the idler mounted on a slot? Is this the center double drive pulley that you are working on? Does it look like the one at the link below? [A href='http://home.att.net/~jnem/pics/1685085.jpeg']http://home.att.net/~jnem/pics/1685085.jpeg[/a]

Today I began what I thought was going to be a simple matter (I should know better!) of replacing 2 bearings for the arbor drive assembly. Come to find out the shaft had spun in the inner race of the bearing and also needs to be replaced. My problem is that the mower manual that came with my 2012 is for a mfg. #407 but the deck I have appears to be newer than that but I can't find a mfg no. on it. The major differences I can identify between my deck and the #407 manual are: 1) The spindle pulley is NOT cast & does NOT have a set screw, 2) Arbor tube assembly flange has 6 mounting holes and a rolled shoulder, 3) The housing discharge is not open all the way from the front to the back, but rather from the front back about 10", 4) The idler is fixed not spring loaded. The #407 manual lists the Bearings as p/n 108202 and the Arbor Drive Assembly as p/n 108252. Is there any easy way to verify that these parts will fit the newer deck? Thanks, John(RI)
