Brake not spinning when in neuteral.Earlier post !

In earlier post I forgot to say brake is not spinning when tractor in neutral ,is this supposed to be that way ?? I always appreciate the help I get here.Thank you all for being here. Pete. [Another friend of Bill"s]

I am assuming that you're talking about a LFGT. The brake drum is geared directly to the rear wheels so it should turn whenever the rear wheels are turning. When in neutral the shifting forks are centered and there is no engagement between the input shaft and the rest of the transmission. You can let out the clutch and it will allow the input shaft to turn but since the gears are not engaged no power is transfered to the wheels.
