I'm looking to purchase a mint condition 16hp Gilson tractor with a deck and a plow.I was told this tractor was sold by Montgomery Ward and I believe this to be true. The owner told me it is impossible to get parts for it.What do you guys think? Keith

I went tp look a supposedly 3 AC tractors about a month ago.Turned out 2 were AC's,and the third was a Wards/Gilson.Looked to be a well built tractor. Engine parts would be easy to find. I'm not sure about other parts. It's curious that the seller would tell you it's impossible to find parts for it.Sure not a selling point! kenny L

There are a couple sites on Yahoo for gilson tractors, no comparison to this one for getting feedback. I had two gilsons, traded the 16 hp to a friend for checkin my mail while I work outta town. Well built tractors but compared to Simplicity/AC a real pain to change attachments on. Never had real good luck finding parts for them, supposely Toro bought them and a GOOD dealer can locate parts..Keep it Simple, you'll be happier..MPH

actually Lawn Boy bought Gilson then Toro bought Lawn Boy. An old tme Lawn Boy dealer would have cross reference from Gilson to Lawn Boy part numbers. A lot of parts are NLA and the ones available are costly for the most part. If you have specific needs let me know. Bob
