chipper/shredders: attn: jp, reinhard and maynard

hello, here is the link/thread to our prior corresponse on the shredder. http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10539 i finally got mine running yesterday. as i was imprest i was also disappointed. so i have these questions for you guys: REINHARD; do you means to get me a picture of your shredder? my has been paint yellow and somewhere the decals have been removed. i can't find any numbers anywheres. so if ours are the same i would like to use your model number. JP; you said that you had some spare parts. i'm looking for another screen and a baffle. its looks like somebody tried to put a lead pipe through mine. blew the top part of my screen out, and when they repaired it, looks like they used a shopping cart. also you made mentioned that you started to do the chipper add-on/conversion and stopped. what parts did you buy, if any, and do you want to sell them? from what i have been able to investigate they seem to be pretty universal. but looks can be decieving. MAYNARD; you sent me a link to simplicity for there publishcation download. i have never gotten this to work before. but with your link its the closest ive ever gotten. but when i type in the mfg number you gave (990434) i don't see where it gives me anything on the shredder. ive probably done something wrong, could you help out again? thanks guys, rob

Rob, I think I said "I started to do that a few years ago & stopped due to cost.". I did not get the parts, then decide not to do it. I looked at what the parts cost & at that time it would've been about $900. With that on top of what I spent for the unit, just not worth it (to me). What I meant by "Let me know if you need anything", I can make the parts (as Maynard's unit shows) to adapt the unit to the tractor or "How to's" on these conversions. I don't have 'extra' parts (my wife is coping with the others I have, LOL). I'll see if I can't find the name of the guy at Mackissic I spoke with about parts, he was quite helpful. JP

hello jp, well i just heard from mackissaic. it was a lady and all she told me was that the shredder was not convertible. if you can i would be interested in the contact that you had at mackissic just to verify what she told me. but it looks like the parts manual says others wise. oh once again thank you jp. rob
