Sam It does very well in the snow. Just about all it has ever done is blow snow and a lot of it. Just came in from blowing out the yard all 1 inch of snow. Took me longer to get it started than to clean the yard. Had to put the heat lamp on and wait 15 min to heat it up. You Haven't said what you want santa to bring you. If I got another tractor one would have to set out side and I don't think it would be the 7790 as it has never set outside.

How about if Santa sends his elves out to insulate and put a furnace in my mower shop? Or Do you suppose thats asking a bit much?

I think you have been a good boy and you have earned that much.

Hey Kenny that looks better, I can now see that your machine is the same but different. First of all someone painted the blower yellow !!:D LOL Mine has been painted at least once and it has a monkey wards B/S. I lost my snowblower clutch knob (handle?) somewhere in the 3inch snow flurry that we had tonight:( Guess I'll have to make a new one. O yeah if Santa's elves aren't busy after working on Sam's workshop, would you have them stop at my place and do the same thing here brrrrrrrrrrr!!!

I thought about repainting the blower, but the original AC paint was still in decent shape. Besides,as they say,"dare to be different!":D Supposed to get a major lake effect snow later today.Somewhere between 6-12" off Lake Michigan. We'll see how well it performs!

It's snowing lightly now. I got two of the three tractors ready...

Hey Dadsy98,Do you drive that thing without the seat, LOL mowerman1193

Sure I do ! The seat it had was sorta ratty and worn out. I'm on the look out for a new one. Actions usually have them pretty cheap. Also I just got done putting chains on the 7010. Snow fall so far is about an inch this morning. Probably more north of me for Goat Farmer :) Steve

Well it's about time that we got to see the might 920! Did you say that you have your tires liquid full of fluid? Some people say that with weights and lug tires you dont need chains. I notice that you have weights, chains and fluid. Are they all needed?

HEy Maynard, the 3400 series lights on top of the cab are kinda cute. I thought about adding some more lighting to mine so I ran a wire ready to splice to just in case.

Les They were at one time. I had a steep drive way and my garage yard was on an incline. And I don't like getting stuck. plus it will walk in to a hard packed snow bank alot easier.

Sam They work real good to. Really light up the night out where you need it. The lights on the tractor are ok but the blower blocks some of the light. Most of the time I don't even use the tractor lights. It has a 12 volt aftermarket rear window heater defroster in the cab mounted to the roof. Helps keep the window from fogging up. The windshield is a piece of lexan I made for it. i just bought a hard windshield and electric wiper for it from Original tractor cab. The red lights on the back of the cab are 2 bulb clearance lights. I wired one bulb for tail lights one for directional lights. I lost one of the lenses and can't find another one. I have everything wired to a five position switch panel with lighted rocker switches mounted on the cross bar of the cab. On the left side beside it is mounted the power rotator switch just above the hydraulic control. This way I can run both with out moving my hand.

Magoo, is your pulley on the crankshaft the correct size and are you runing wide open throttle? When I had my snowblower on it wouldn't throw far, I looked up some info and realized the pulley on the crank was turning the belt way too slow even at wide open throttle, then I noticed the belt was slipping too. Check those out and see what works.-BradW

I have been driving 4 wheel drive trucks/SUVs for 25 years. I have better control with my 4 wheel drive than a 2 wheel drive. All my 4 wheel drives have lock out hubs and mudder style tires. My latest 4X4 is a 280 horse 89 Chevy Suburban with 10.50 wide tires. I manual shift my automatic down a gear to slow down or stop my 4 wheel drive . Works good on 2 wheel drive autos too if they are rear wheel drive. The 3 biggest problems with newer 4 wheelers is stupid drivers who think they can go anywhere because they are driving 4 wheel drive . All season tires are a joke. Tires are too soft in summertime (hurt gas mileage) and poor tread design. Push button 4 wheel drive systems another problem. 4 wheel drive light is on, but auto is still in 2 wheel drive. Front wheel drive autos are an accident waiting to happen.

Dale You are an experienced 4x4 driver. Most are not. If they didn't have the auto hubs or push button 4x4 they wouldn't know how to put it in 4 wheel drive. Most 4 wheel drives today never get put into 4 wheel drive in their life. Therefore they don't work from lack of use if you did need it. Four is used to go thu rough terrain or get out of tough spots at slow speed not drive down icey roads at 70mph.

I have put a new belt on my blower. We got quite a bit of snow up here in New York. The pulley on the engine shaft is not original. so I will check the numbers on it. I did notice that the belt sits a ways inside the pully. Not flush to the top like some of the pictures show in this discussion. But I did get to use it. It blows well in deeper snow. But if there is just a little snow it just flops it to the side a little. Thanks UCD. for things to be checked. Guy A.K.A magoo

MAgoo, My blowers do the same thing in light accumulations, I just increase the ground speed of the tractor to improve the performance. The more snow funneled into the blower the better it performs. When the drifts are tall I don't have to go as fast to get more snow into the blower. Try that and see what happens

SmilinSam. Ok I will Thanks. Gotta love these old tractors. 3012 V Guy A.K.A magoo

Less than 9", the Sweepster is my favorite snow tool. It floats.... Right down to the ground... No pushing..... No spinning tires... No piled up banks... Plain turf tires... No chains, no weights, no tire fluid... No scratched asphalt or concrete...
