I placed the order and sent payment for a 24HP Honda V-twin kit today. Timewise, I will not likely get the project underway till well after the first of the year. I have several pieces of furniture I want to build, and If I find myself in the mood I might break my new Bostich angle finish nailer in and do some interior trim work on the house too. I plan on taking lots of pictures of the installation as well as the modifacations to the battery location and auxillary oil cooling setup. Power steering would be nice too, but I doubt I get that ambitious. Hopefully I won't regret spending the money...

Sam, Be sure to take a lot of pics of "Before" as well as during and of course "After"! I can't tell you how many times I have gone back to look at how it was when I got it so I can be sure how it goes back. A prime example is the second pulley outboard of the tranny pulley off the right side of the BGB. It has a slight offset to one side and I sure don't recall which way it went. I can asure you that there are may small details you just don't recall while a photo will give you all the details. Make sure you take shots from many angles as you never know what you'll want to see..... Anyone else doing a project? Take note....... and lots of pics too !!!!!!!!

Sam, Myself and I am sure other members will be anxiously watching your progress on this project. I for one will be following in your foot steps in the near future. Thanks for paving the way, and I know it is going to make one fine machine when completed. I also do woodworking, at the present time I'm just finishing up a Mission sideboard cabinet, remodeling a bathroom, and restoreing a Bolens 1453. Never enough time. Floyd

  • 1 month later...
Sam, After spending the holidays with my finish nailer and the compound miter saw that Santa brought me its time for me to start thinking about repowering my 720. I knew the best place to start would be with the club Talking Tractors forum so yesterday I started looking for a thread. Found your posts. Thanks for taking time to share your experiences. How's the Honda project coming along?

I havn't worked on it in a while, been drawing up plans to make some furniture in the other shop. Before it got cold I did get the engine positioned and the riser welded into the tractor frame. I also picked up a nice little 12V oil cooler to put in somewhere when I get back to the project. I'll add more pictures and steps to the main installation post sooner or later. I need to get the 3 point hitch all cleaned up and installed so I can attack moving the battery too.
