Snowthrower question

?I tried my 410 last night with the snowthrower. Temp was about 20 degrees and 3" of snow was very light. It worked well except that it would only throw the snow about 4-6 feet. I ran at full throttle and got off to watch auger. It was spinning about as fast as my father's wheel horse. I'm hoping that with heavier snow it will throw it more like the pics I've seen on this site. Would a faster ground speed help to load the auger more with only a couple inches of snow? I'm a little dismayed but am looking forward to making a wall of snow when I get more!!

Yes. For these to work well, you need to keep the "hopper" pretty full, so you have to vary your ground speed to do that. This is especially important when dealing with wet, slushy snow.

Kent, Thanks for the info. I read thru the 2 page thread on snow removal and found that Magoo had the same question. If its light and fluffy and there isn't much, I'll have to put the governor to the test and as Santa Claus says "Full speed ahead!"
