9020 snowblower parts problem

I have a 52 in blower on my 9020 and one of the three bearings/guides that the chute rides in is shot, so I go to my Simplicity dealer and try to get a new set of three and he said they dont make them anymore. Now I am in a word of hurt. Could a person fab up something like that? Has anyone out there ever done it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try one of the advertisers on Simpletractors, namely SandyLake Implement. They generally have outsourced discontinued bearings. Thats where I go first when I need to check on bearings out of production.

I had the same problem with mine. My brother-in-law had it stored for 10 years and lost one of the bearings. I couldn't find one anywhere. I finally got 3 flat washers (2 large and 1 smaller) put them together and bolted them down. Now all I need is snow to see how good it works. I figured it works better now than before without one. Good luck. Wayne

Sandy Lake said they no longer have such a thing. I took the spacer-washers out, gobbed on the grease and have my fingers crossed while I'm lookin and thinkin.

Ken Take one of the bearings and get the numbers off from it. take that number to NAPA or a good parts store and they might be able to cross it. There is also a bearing supply house listed in resources-links.

Hi Ken, we have had the same problem. The solution we used was to take a bearing with an external lock ring on it, put a spacer on the inside to match the the bolt size, then use machine bushings and washers to make the groove for the chute housing. It has worked well for 10 + years now. Check with your local supply stores, if you do not have any luck, drop us a PM. Neal
