Sears SS/18 Twin

I picked up this old sears. I was going to part it out but it's such a heavy duty thing I'd Like to try and repair the engine. It is an Oren 18 horse twin cylinder. Is this engine worth repairing or what will fit in it's place?

the sears ss18 is a very nice tractor although onan parts are expensive i have a ss16 and it runs like a champ when tuned good what kinda shape is the engine in?if it fixable id use it sears made alot of good attachments for it..mike

I haven't even charged the battery. The guy said the engine was shot and it's leaking oil on my garage floor. But, it came with a deck, snow blower and cab.

Hi in that case you might need to replace the engine and find a altenernative but if you do sell it let me know id be interested in the attachments and tractor..mike

hey the onans are like wisconins they are good as gold and it will cost you an arm and a leg to rebuild it an 18hp briggs should fit it i have a sears to with a plow and i just put a 16hp briggs on it the only thing i had to do was build a plate because it had a 12hp tecumseh on it
