Does anybody know what the PN 172048 headlight crosses to or if it is still available? The old girl needs a full set of 4 and I'd like to find them if I could. 12/17...BTW,the tractor in question is a 3314H, about '73 vintage and I don't even have a bulb to start looking with...just the picture in the OM

I too would like to know of a crossover. I took mine to the local NAPA and they couldn't cross it. Someone had mentioned on here in a previuos post that they crossed to a foglight but I can't find anyone who knows which manufacturer. Stan

The local NAPA here in Charleston WV has a match for them.....at least they did a few months back.....takes a lot of looking through the catalog...i have found that all NAPA stores do not have the same level of service when looking for these things...might try more than one store if you have problems..

Hey guys, When you do find these bulbs you better be sitting down! These bulbs are around $45.00 a piece if you can find them. Here's what I did... I bought the small halogen fog lamps that you can buy from Pep Boys. They are about as round as a golf ball. I then modified the light housing to except the new fog light. Yes I have two different lights in the housing, however, these fog lamps are far brighter than the four factory bulbs ever were and the replacement bulbs are a "standard" bulb. Hope this info gives you another way out. Jeff

Hey guys. I have published an earlier post back a couple months ago inquiring if there was any interest in a retrofit kit to replace these bulbs. I have an early AC710 with the four halogen lamps. The problem that we are running into is that the company that used to make these lamps has discontinued manufacturing them. The lamp socket is also no longer made. I am employed as an engineer in the lighting industry and have searched all my contacts for this lamp and this is what I have found so far. I have gotten some new style lamp sockets that fit readily available halogen lamps that cost about $7.00 each. They are available in, I think, wattages up to 50 watt output, which is really bright. However, to use them requires a new lamp socket that I can get for I think around $4.00 each. To use this combination requires a new bracket that can be fabricated from thin gage steel. Due to some family illnesses I have been unable to complete this project for now. However, if there is any interest in switching to this, I will try to find the time to finish the bracket and provide retrofit kits to all who want them. Previously I got only a couple of responses so I didn't think there was much need. Since my original 4 lamps are still burning, I kind of put this on the back burner. Let me know if there is any desire for this retrofit kit. Thanks
