dealers ripp you off - $70 mark up solenoid

man been searching for the correct starter solenoid and finally found it with alittle research and help from club - my starter solenoid was for a cckb - spec (j) - part number was 191-0987 onan dealer wanted $94 bucks - sears wanted $74 bucks( better but still not great) - called around some more and found after market one part number (cpc) ssmi-865 at a starter/alternator rebuid shop - get this $ 25 bucks - thats a huge diff. from dealer - had best luck with starter rebuild shops - where do they get off charging a $70 dollar mark up - its a $5 dollar part made in brazil - what are your thoughts

I agree Jason, these guys have to make a living, but it sure makes it harder for us guys that do this on a shoe-string budget. What we don't realize is that (not to mention, the individual shop owner philosophies) some of these shops have a high overhead and some don't.
