What kind of work do you use your sickle mower for? Cutting tall weeds and trimming hedge sides. How much can one go through? About 1/2". How much maintenence? Depends on use (abuse) & PM. Parts? Catch as catch can. dangers? No more than a firearm. glad you bought it? Of course. Why did you get rid of it? Didn't need more than one. Price range? $25 (Parts piece) $1000 (planetary brand new in box).

Doug, I have had mine for over 15 years. Same answers as Dutch. I use mine about 4-6 hours per year. The only parts I have changed in all those years is 1 sickle blade piece.
