Kent 435 Posted October 5, 1999 Saw a Simplicity 6216 with attachments advertised locally at a reasonable price (assuming that it's as advertised -- I haven't seen it). What's the "Trackomatic Drive" that supposedly gives infinitely variable speeds?[A href='http://www.simpletractors.com/simplicity/new_in_1983/6200%20Series.htm']http://www.simpletractors.com/simplicity/new_in_1983/6200%20Series.htm[/a]

Al 6 Posted October 5, 1999 Hi, I agree the variable speed wasn't that great. The tractor is good though, just don't expect too much rang in the variator. It was sold as a Garden tractor and will take a tiller. [I have one on hand, waiting for adoption.] The variator double sheave is the same as John Deere uses. If it sets for a while without being used it gets sticky, and we have had to take some out and clean them out. There are model sn breaks on these tractors regarding belts, so be sure to get the right belts. The transmission is the old Simplicity built 728/38 tranny beefed up some. It was also built as an 11hp 6211 and 18hp 6218. They run a long time without a lot of trouble otherwise. Good luck, Al
