dlcentral
Thanks Rich. It actually doubles as the garden plow lift I made for a 12" Jacobsen[SORRY FOLKS!] plow I drag with our 3112H Sim. Like I said before I heard moth crystals spread around the machine keeps the critters out,but I never tried it! I,, probably like you in the spring, take the top air shield off the head and clean away the junk with a good strong shop [SEARS!]vac.! dlc
richp
A few months ago we talked about remedies to keep unwanted guests out of our motors. It's that time to store some equip. and every spring i'm pulling the motors to clean around the flywheel. Any suggestions? And DLC, pretty slick rear lift boom you made, I'm building one now, should be great with the hydro lift.
LarryC
Yes, I have used the ultrasonic units, and it kept the mice out of my HB212 when I parked it in shed that was easy for rodent invasion. (I now keep the tractors (5) in a new rodent proof shed - only the best for these ACs and Sims.) I had a constant problem until I started to use the unit. In the winter I even stuffed the major openings of the engine with course steel wool (removed each spring). The ultrasonic only seems to work in a small area. I can get evidence of rodent activity about 8 to 10 ft. away from the unit. So park your tractor close to the ultrsonic unit and face the unit towards it. IT WORKED FOR ME!! LarryC
Has anyone tried using those ultrasonic pest deterents? I'm thinking of getting one anyways as my barn has the usual mouse population. They weren't bothering me until I dug my $120 Wolf Evolution 3 car cover out from a cabinet this past weekend, and found about 50 holes chewed through it. Some mouse family thought they found a real cozy home for the winter. But, getting back to the point, one of these in your garage or shed aught to do a pretty good job if they work.
