Speaking of towing with these tractors...

Someone mentioned towing their minivan with their tractor, and it reminded me of this great attachment for the oldies -- a trailer hitch that fits both the front and rear of the tractor -- in case some of you haven't seen it: Here's the brochure for it: http://www.simpletractors.com/attachments/ball_hitch.htm This is the ONLY way I could get my old fishing boat (now sold) into my barn. With an 84" beam, sitting on the trailer, I had about 6" clearance on my garage doors. I couldn't back it in there with my truck without hitting one side or the other, but with the hitch on the front of the tractor (ala a "spotting hitch") I could pretty much put it anywhere I wanted to.... Clubmember Rob Baumuller (Rob-B) was selling reproductions of these at one time, based on mine, but I don't know if he still has the capability to still make them or not...

kent i tnink in some of my postings about getting a jbjr sombody had mensioned that John from johnny products devised a ball hitch that could be used in combination with the regular jbjr's hitch. i think it was a custom 1 off but i am sure for those who may have a need it can be remade, and i am sure it is alot cheaper than one of those new 4 wheel steering chevy tahoe's that we have all seen on tv :D

Hearing that about John Scheele doesn't surprise me.... Mine was fabricated by a kind clubmember, based on pictures/drawings of the original... It would be nice to have CAD drawings of one of these -- should someone out there own an original and can take a bunch of measurements...

Use my combination snow blade/spotting hitch all the time to move trailers & carts. Most of the time without getting off my butt.

Interesting Dutch, your combination hitch sounds likely to be one of my next projects. Is the threaded shank of your hitch ball turned down to fit the 1/2" hole of the blade hitch or, did you enlarge the hole for the ball and use a sleeve for the blade? I'll need to move different trailers that have different size ball hitches. Steve
