I have a 1969 10hp briggs that I will be rebuilding soon I asked my local briggs dealer about a rebuild kit he said there is no kit you have to buy the parts separately. There is a carb kit and a gasket kit but no rebuild kit.

I've seen kits on e-Bay but I don't recall if they were for Kohler or Briggs engines. Included piston rod valves etc.....

If you have numerical number of engine, chances are you can download a parts book at Briggs web site and price parts right from there. Numbers for engine of that era should be stamped in lower blower housing. http://www.briggsandstratton.com/MainSite.asp?rsvp=0&CategoryID=7&PARENTID=7&LRID=1&EPAGE=/main/RealBriggs/WebSite/NA/EN/support_maintenance/index.mb&MSCSSID=1234
