Just picked up new wonderboy 700 very nice shape orinigal paint tires and battery. Didn't get a chance to work on it yet but will try tomorrow. Came with tiller snowblower and 42" mower most of the paint on it. It even has the rear light on it, frount missing. Owner siad that it shook off when the coupler broke and broke the hood out in that area but otherwise in very nice shape. Anybody know what year serial # 2712 would be I need to know . Even came with orinigal owners manaul

Sounds like a nice find. DLC has one too - they would make a nice pair if you guys can go to the same shows.

Looks like it's either a 1959 or 1960, but I can't tell by the tractor serial number or MFR #. I'm not even sure if Simplicity kept track of which serial numbers were in which production year. If so, they certainly haven't shared them (though I've asked a few times). But, you might be able to tell from the mowing deck (assuming it originally came with the tractor). If it's 42" deck, MFR # 990190, then it's a 1960 -- so that's my guess. That's the correct MFR # for the 1960 42" deck, and only 32" decks were used in 1959. If it's a 32" deck, MFR # 990172, then it's a 1959. It it's a 32" deck, MFR # 990207, then it's a 1960. Also, you can "date" the Briggs engine, if it's original. But, this won't date the tractor necessarily since there may be months between when the engine was made and when the tractor was made.... See the link below for figuring it out from the B&S serial number. BTW, you should never ask "a lady" her age, especially when "she's" at or over the 40 mark.... 8o) [A href='http://207.254.28.244/clubhouse/showMessage.asp?MsgID=58&mode=long&startwith=100']http://207.254.28.244/clubhouse/showMessage.asp?MsgID=58&mode=long&startwith=100[/a]
