Clutch adjustment on a AC- B112

Looking over my manual to adjust my clutch one page says to adjust the locknuts to give 7/8 space between the nuts and idler pulley pivot arm when the variable speed lever is in the "low speed postion".The very next page in the diagram it says to do it when the variable speed lever is in the "high speed postion".My question is does it matter which postion the speed lever is in as long as it is in either hgh or low? Thank you

Wire it, when the variable speed is in the high speed position is when the idler pulley must take up the most slack in the belt. To make sure that there is enough space for the clutch to take this up Adjust the clutch with the V-speed in the fastest position. MikeES
