Battery Hold Down Ideas

Good Morning, I bought a battery for my Yeoman 627. It looks like the hold down clamps were inteneded for a battery with a lip at the bottom. My new battery doesn't have one. I need to come up with some type of strap to hold the battery in place. Anybody have any ideas? Thank you, John

A short heavy rubber bungee, like the truckers use for holding tarps down should work. You may have to fiddle with where to hook it so it stays tight, or tie a few knots in it to take up that last bit of slack.

What about trying something like this since you should have had holes already for the holder style holder. Hi Kris, Thanks for your suggestion. The battery is the same size as a motorcycle battery so I'm not sure I'll be able to find something like that. I'll keep my eyes peeled. Later, John

Here is what I came up with in case anybody else needs to do the same. I took a piece of bicycle innertube about two inches longer than the battery and cut holes in the end. I used two 1/4 by 6" carriage bolts, four big flat washers and six nuts to strap the tube over the battery. It works about the same as the picture Kris posted above.
