Bowed Lift Rod

See how that lift rod has a slight bow? Well, I was using my 42" Simplicity blade, but it seemed too small. So, I figured I hitch up to a V-blade I have laying around doing nothing. As soon as the hydraulics started to lift, the rod bowed. Do you think it's the cold weather, or a factory defect? Dutch, Looks like operator error and a hydraulic lift with no "float" position. Obviously the operator was lowering the snow blade and went to far. Then, without "float", the rod bent due to the strain of trying to lift the tractor front end off the ground since the blade would not go down into the frozen ground. This could have been prevented had it been a FDT. The operator could have put his feet on the ground to remove some of the tractor load as the front end came up. Simple physics (cartoon style) and common sense. Smile! 8o) Cheers,
