Pulled the diff from my Big Ten. The spiders seem to be too far out from the hub gear to engage. Just get grinding and popping. Thinking as I write, I wonder if the sheet metal housing may be stretched. The gears don't look bad. Hmm.Ok. Forget the rebuild option. So should I go new, used, or just part that bucket of worms out and start looking at my B-112?

Also check that the axle set collar did not loosen and allow the gear to disengage. Check by jacking up rear and see if you can push the right tire inboard any more. If you can move it back and forth a bit you may need to tighten the left axle collar against the tube after pushing the right side in all the way. Or maybe the axle or tube snapped. :(

Hi DD-T, I had this decision to make last winter and I choose to just take the diff. off of my parts tractor "WRONG" move on my part. I pulled the diff. off my parts tractor-and let's just say in it was in ok shape so I installed it and after plowing some snow and about 2 hours later-after towing it into my warn garage started pulling everthing apart "BUMMER" but I should of just done the job the write way as the diff. is one important part of many as you know. Just go to your dealer and get-#1 the newer style housing as it is alot thicker and dosen't need the spacers to reinforce it. #2 buy the spring kit for it will really make a big traction difference.#3 buy all new gears-bushing. #4 all new bolts-washers-nuts that's what I feell like write about now as I think back about it so you all can stop thinking it as I already know I am so there. #5 after about 2 hours of trying to get the darn thing all put together being a retarded x-mechanic yes that's write I did say that to,have the dealership put that darn thing together for you and save yourself-cuts on finger's-bruised fingers-broken finger nails-well get the picture? Now I know you and everyone else me included can do the job"BUT" you decide it's a free country. Make sure that all keyways are in "EXCELLENT" shape no room for play here. Check axle shaft for any keyway slots that are worn so as the keys will not be "TITE" no play-I replaced my shaft and felt that I had already gotten it anyway so why take the chance. Check the hubs and let's not forget the other end of the shaft either you know do it write and be done with it. Well ok I will stop now and let everyone's eyes take a rest "NOTTTTTT" Best of luck just my free advise and you did ask for some didn't you? >>>-->happyjack<--<<<->>>P.S. "Take that there bucket of worms and go fishing"
