Am new to this forum. Have a line on a Massey Ferguson 1655. I know Simplicity made it but I don't know much other than that. Has hydro and hydro lift on deck. What am I looking at and anything I need to lookout for. What is the Simplicity equalivent?

I'm not sure! But I think Snapper made the 1655 for MF. I looked at one two weeks ago and that's the info that I got from the owner. I may be way off base on this. Jim H

Hi, I think Jim is headed in the right direction. I believe these were made by MF, and then MF sold the operation to Snapper, Snapper may have still provided the 1655s to Mf for a short period. I have a 1610 and can't get parts from either MF or Snapper. The 1655s you can usually get parts form Snapper. Another area this happened is New Holland. They started building tractors and then sold the operation to Ariens who changed the color and called them the S series, and later the GT. I have a clean one [16 hp]that that was stored for about 14 yrs. Works good. My 2 cents worth and it is free, so take it for what it is worth. Al

I believe that Al and Jim are correct. Simplicity did not begin building MF garden tractors until 1995 or 1996. I dont really keep up with it, but I believe that all Simplicity built MF garden tractors carry a 2000 designation. I know that the MF equiv. to a Sovereign is a 2818H. Any Simplicity product will carry a 169000 product number, wont it??? Good luck trying to get parts from Snapper!
