Hard to tell... how does that one compare to this one from Northern Tool for $36.99. It has a tach, hourmeter and flashing maintenance reminder.... As long as it fits. Hourmeters are usually hooked into accessory side of ignition switch and give you a general idea of engine hours. Should you happen to leave igition on over night the hour meter just ticks away.

The two could be virtually the same, Northern is purchasing is a high volume and selling at a discount price, while the direct supplier always sells retail. The reason a direct supplier always sells at a higher price is that it costs much more to keep a staff to sell one at a time as opposed to selling hundreds or thousands at a time to a distributor.

hi guys the only diffrence i have seen so far is that the one i was looking at has a button that lets you switch between hours and rpm with a button push but i will look into northern tools a lil closer

The ones in Northern's catalog show RPM when the engine is running and hours when it is not... I think you can also switch between the two, but to be honest I can't remember. Mine is on the HB-216 which is currently scattered all over my garage... :D

These don't wire into the tractor's wiring at all. There's a sensor wire that you wrap around the spark plug wire, and a ground wire. That's it. It's powered by an internal, non-replaceable battery...
