Replacement Engine for Allis 21" Push Mower

Picked up a fairly decent (for being 25+ years old) Allis-Chalmers 21" push mower. It runs, but the little 3.5 HP Briggs smokes pretty bad. Owner has re-ringed once already. I'd like to just go get a new motor and bolt on it, but would want an original model number. Anyone familiar with these with these 3.5's and any advice on what to do? Thanks Jack

Well I don't know much about what motor those old mowers have but the price of this motor would be cheaper than a rebuild if you had to have machine work done to it.There is another one listed here as well for $10 more.Check this link out http://www.smallenginewarehouse.com/product.asp?PN=BV35LM-7811316

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
