AC 312

As near as I can figure I have just bought an AC 312. I bought it for the rear end and bevel gear box. It has a vari speed rearend, which is what I was interested in. According to the specs on this website it should have a 12 hp kohler, but it has a 12 hp briggs. The motor seems to be tight. The bearings on the steering gear is worn out. Did they sell these with Briggs motors?

To my knowlege, they were all Kohlers. Simplicity continued using Briggs for a few more years before switching to the K-series.

It doesnt have lights, if it did I'd let you have them. I am still debating whether to part it out or restore it. What is a van drive transmission? ddh
