I have a 1972 Simplicity Sovereign 3415H with a bunch of attachments that I love, but it's time to rebuild the motor (15hp B & S) and I have been unable to find a kit or even parts to do so. Help!

I'm in the process of rebuilding the 16hp b&s out of my '78 7016 Sovereign. The engine is a 346431 cast iron single cylinder and was running fine until the top compression ring shredded and took the smooth cylinder walls along with it. I have been able to find every wearable part (i.e. not blocks, heads, cranks, etc) from jacks small engine online. You'll need to find out the engine block number and model type (usually a 4 digit code), and then download a parts list for it. Briggs seems to still make lots of parts for their engines, which is why I decided to rebuild rather than repower. I was able to find a complete gasket set, and a 0.020" piston set with rings and paid just over $100. Good luck....its pretty fun:) Spence

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
