Didn't know there was a gas line to fuel bowl and another going to the carb...with a shutoff on the one going to the fuel bowl. *That* was the problem...didn't hurt to clean everything up I'm sure. But once that was adjusted it's fired and runs. Thanks for feedback, links, etc. Hoping to be able to *use* it this weekend. :-D

Jan, Long ago a boss beat into my head to never overlook the basics, but not hard enough. My brother bought a sears walk behind mower. It would run for a bit then either stall or run very rough. I tinkered, mussed and fussed with it and got no place. One day sitting in the local coffee shop a fella laughed at the problem, he had been there done that. No stinkin vent in the gass cap!!!!! Yup, as Maynard said, we have all been there. Now you need a new project, get one of those new fangled tractors that have a seat on them. hehehe BTW, Very nice, and interesting home page you have. bf who was tinkering with it found it...thought it was something else and turned it. lol They do run a whole lot better when fuel goes to the system! It purrs now. :-) Joe I'm thinking of an updated model. lol There's only about 1500 little things in the way...lol they're called dollars. ;-) Actually there was a medium sized AC at this same auction...loader, place and power for all kinds of implements...lol but it went for $2200 and I think the guy could have gone up about $800 more and still gotten a good deal. Very clean tractor...can't remember model. Thanks for the compliment on my site.
