I recently got a used vacuum and got several questions? I searched our archives and found the WWW.IHORZ.COM place and went there to look at the T-7 hose. Is this exactly what I need? How much (long) do I need? I also need mower deck adapter where can I get one of these? and should I use hose for everything or do I need the "clear" plastic tube and "inlet elbow"? Someone else told me I could use PVC plastic pipe? How do I get the pipe to stay on the vacuum part? The vacuum I got has a lever to turn it off and on..is this good or bad?

Well, Simplicity sees the world from the 'other' hand usually. The chute is on the left side where the rest of the world is on the right. The intake chute is usually available from Trac Vac or an older Simplicity dealer. I think I recall a used one on Jeff Nemes site (one of our sponsors!). I lucked out on the hose, we have a local supplier so I didn't go through a lot of hassle getting it. There are a few qualities & the 'good' stuff isn't that much more. So, that what I did, good stuff & haven't looked back! Hope it helps, JP

The hose type and length is your decision. Hoses are available in different qualities for different applications. The length depends on which cart and tractor you are using. In addition to the 7" hose from my deck to blower, and the 6" hose from my blower to cart, I have 20' of 7" hose for the roving nozzle. Deck adapters may still be available new. You might be able to find a used one. Or, you can always make one. The clear tube is nice if your vac plugs up. However, the clear tube is really flimsy. Clear hose is available, but it's expensive. I never had a plug so bad that I couldn't just shake it loose. Although not as heavy duty as OEM, regular stove flue pipe can be used for adapters. Hoses are held on with worm type hose clamps. The lever is an over-center clutch. It is needed on some tractors, but not others. If you have one, it doesn't hurt a thing.

After much shopping, I got it from iHozs. Best price and really nice people to deal with. I see they now have 25' lengths. > http://www.ihozs.com/applshow.cfm?ID=9&selcode=GK&CFID=184190&CFTOKEN=35678409
