I own a Broadmoor (990303). I beleive its was rewired incorrectly, Whom ever did it replaced the key ignition with a toggle switch. That is o.k. for energizing the coil but,I believe some how it leaves the current from the battery always displaced. GENERATOR AND REG CHECK OUT FINE. Anyone out their have a wiring schematic for a deluxe w/electric start.[:[:(]

Go here. http://www.simplicitytechpubs.com/techpubsearch.php Type in your model and download both operators manuals. One of then has wiring a diagram and it shows a toggle swith for the igition. And if it is stock tractor all that siwtch does is ground the mangneto and stop engine when the contacts are closed.

Broadmoor Deluxe 990303 6hp DELUXE TIRES WITH ELECTRIC START From what I can find the toggle switch was just an on/off switch to put ground on the ignition to kill it the starter was a push switch.
